'Look Me in the Eye: My Life with Asperger's' book review

Title: Look Me in the Eye
Author: John Robison

Simple and humorous, "Look Me in the Eye" is just one of the books we college students need to take our minds off all our upcoming work (with engineering terminology as an added bonus). Nearly three months after the release of "Look Me in the Eye," the public has spoken, and so far the book is being praised as highly entertaining and unexpectedly inspirational.

A Ukrainian 'Hit' - A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian: A Novel

The first novel of Marin Lewycka, "A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian," is bound to perk a few laughs in the reader's mind. Using serious themes such as marriage, money and sex between the elderly as a form of comic relief, the book enjoyed great success, as it is being translated into 22 different languages and has been nominated for the Booker Award. With twists and turns, one would find the book filled with unexpected surprises and little funny stories within the story.

The Youth Factor

Since the passing of the 26th Amendment, young voters have been consistently absent from the polls. Their underwhelming interest in voting has sparked "youth courting" recruitments in a couple of the last presidential campaigns with little success. Remember the 2004 "Vote or Die" slogan? It was cool enough to wear on a T-shirt, but failed to turn out young voters. However, this year's president campaigners have invigorated the apathetic young to show up at the voting booths and we are still months away from Election Day. What is their secret?

Freshman 15

What is Freshman 15? It is the general idea that freshmen are susceptible to gain 15 pounds in their first semester. In one study done by Cornell University, it was found that men gain six pounds and women four and a half pounds during their first year at college. One of the common reasons may be uncontrollable or unnoticeable eating and/or drinking.
